Required Documents

To prepare for a smooth tax filing experience

To ensure your tax preparation goes as smoothly as possible, please gather the following documents before your appointment. Having these on hand will help us maximize deductions and credits and ensure an accurate, timely filing.

  • Personal Information

    Identification: Government-issued ID (driver’s license, passport)
    Social Insurance Number (SIN)
    Details for Dependents: SIN and birthdates for each dependent
    Banking Information: Direct deposit information for refunds (void cheque or banking details)

  • Income Documents

    Employment Income (T4): Provided by your employer, showing income and deductions
    Pension and Retirement Income (T4A, T4OAS, T4RIF): Forms for Old Age Security, CPP, and other retirement income sources

  • Investment Income (T5, T3):

    Statements showing interest, dividends, and capital gains from investments

  • Self-Employment Income

    Summary of business income and expenses, along with supporting receipts

  • Rental Income

    Rental income and expense summary for any property you rent out

  • Deduction and Credit Documents

    RRSP Contributions: Official receipts for Registered Retirement Savings Plan contributions
    Tuition and Education Credits (T2202): Tuition amounts and eligible education-related expenses
    Medical Expenses: Receipts for eligible medical and dental expenses
    Charitable Donations: Donation receipts from registered charities
    Childcare Expenses: Receipts from childcare providers or daycare facilities
    Property Tax and Rent Receipts: Documentation for Ontario’s property tax and rent credit

  • Additional Information

    Notice of Assessment (NOA): Most recent NOA from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
    Previous Year’s Tax Return: A copy of your last tax return (copy of the T1 General) , if you’re a new client
